The Village of Oriskany Board of Trustees will meet on Tues., Sept. 13, 2022 in the meeting room behind the Masonic Lodge at 701 Utica Street.
At 6:00 p.m. they will hold a Public Hearing for Local Law #2 of 2022 regarding the Establishment of a Temporary Moratorium Prohibiting Large Scale Solar Installations Within the Village of Oriskany.
This Local Law is intended to temporarily extend a prohibition on the creation or siting of large scale solar power installations within the Village of Oriskany for a period of up to twelve (12) months, pending the development and adoption of local laws designed to regulate and govern such installations. Large Scale Solar Installations specifically do not include any solar panel collection system or array undertaken by individual landowners, householders or farmers for their own personal use or the use of a business owned by them.
At 6:15 p.m. the board will hold a public meeting on upcoming grant opportunities such as the NY Downtown Revitalization Initiative and NY Forward Program. The village is seeking input from residents about what they would like to see updated and improved upon, including sidewalks, parks improvements, municipal spaces, etc. Feedback is also being sought on the potential clean up and revitalization of the Waterbury Mill site. Residents are encouraged to attend or send their ideas by email to clerk@oriskany.org.
The regular monthly board meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Public comments can also be submitted in writing to the village clerk until 10 a.m. on the Monday before the meeting. For details, please call the village office at 315-736-3512.
