This is a reminder that villages do not participate in the town's bulk trash pick-up which occurs every June. Town pick-up is for homes in unincorporated areas that do not have municipal contracted trash service throughout the year.
Please remember that steel, metal items, electronics, and major appliances are collected by the village on the last Thursday of every month. Construction and demolition debris is also collected monthly by the hauler on the last Monday of the month. For construction debris, two (2) containers, no larger than 30 gallons and not to exceed 50 pounds, may be set out consisting of items such as boards, plaster, and insulation, none to exceed four (4) feet in length.
The Oriskany Public Library collects clean clothing and household linens for donation throughout the year. These items can be delivered to the storage shed behind the library.
Usable, non-clothing items (lamps, dishes, toys, etc.) can also be donated to the village wide garage sale. This year's event will be sponsored by and benefit the Battle of Oriskany Historical Society at the Oriskany Museum. Donations can be delivered to the museum after Independence Day. (Garage sale details coming soon!)
Additional bulk items, such as mattresses and furniture can be disposed of weekly with the purchase of a $10 bulk item sticker. (Available at the village office or request one by mail.)
Household hazardous wastes (such as paints and chemicals) as well as extra
recyclables and garbage can be disposed of through the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste
Authority at: EcoDrop Utica, 80 Leland Ave., Utica, NY 13502
